This year’s collection is inspired by serene snowy Wonderland - with frosty hues and pastel tones, new amigurumi friends and lots of arctic charm!
The bonus pattern is the crochet Snowglobe - how will you fill yours?
We will reveal the mini collection day by day, advent calendar style, starting on the first day of December all the way to Christmas Eve.
Join us today to receive the crochet pattern to make the Snowglobe, introduction to the MCAL and a stitch guide for the project.
Early-bird sign-ups are open until the 30th of November 2024 (you can get the new Amigurumi Advent MCAL 40% OFF the regular price)
- What yarn will we need?
For this MCAL we are using Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK (100% cotton, 50g/125m/127yds), it’s a nice thickness for making Amigurumi. You can find it on Lovecrafts.com*.
Please note the yarn is not included with the MCAL pattern and needs to be purchased separately.
For the regular size Snowglobe allow around 30g of DK weight cotton for the dome and 20g of DK weight cotton for the base. For the larger size Snowglobe allow around 60g of Aran weight cotton for the Dome and 40g of Aran weight cotton for the base. We used Paintbox Yarns Cotton Aran (100% cotton, 50g/85m/93yds) to make the sample.
This is the yarn list to make the 24 surprise amigurumi:
White (Champagne White 403) x2
Beige (Vanilla Cream 408)
Brown (Soft Fudge 410)
Peach (Peach Orange 455)
Yellow (Daffodil Yellow 422)
Pink (Blush Pink 454)
Lilac (Dusty Rose 442)
Sage (Pine Green 467)
Mint (Macaron Green 470)
Blue (Cerulean Blue 474)
Of course you are welcome to use a different yarn! This is a nice stash-busting project, as small makes don’t need as much yardage. This year's collection will look great in all kinds of colour combinations!
*Affiliate link. You buy at the same price and we will get a small percentage. Thank you!
Will the MCAL be available on Lovecrafts.com this year too?
This year we will not be hosting the MCAL updates on Lovecrafts.com, as there are unpredictable delays with the update system that could lead to customers missing out on the daily surprise.
But we will upload the completed eBook there as soon as the MCAL is finished!
Can I use a different yarn?
Of course, dive into your stash or follow one of our suggested palettes in the Introduction document.
You can mix different brand of DK cotton yarn if some colours are not availabe in your preferred shop – or if you already have some of those colours in your stash! Please note: we do not recommend making the Snowglobe in acrylic yarns as they lack the structure cotton yarn gives to unstuffed amigurumi.
Can I use a different hook size?
Depending on your yarn or your crocheting style you may need to change to bigger or smaller hook size, find one that works best for you!
What patterns will there be?
A Whimsical Snowglobe (make a regular size that fits 2-3 mini projects or a large size that fits more!) and 24 mystery pattern surprise through out the advent weeks. All projects are designed to be fun and quick to make, take a look out our past collections to get an idea of the variety!
Do I have to make all the patterns in the MCAL?
You are welcome to make all of the daily patterns or just your favourites – it’s totally up to each maker! We hope you will enjoy this merry adventure and crochet at your own pace.
Do we have to share the projects on Instagram?
Sharing on social media is completely optional, we do love seeing all your makes! Make sure to use #amigurumiadvent2024
We like to hang out in our Ravelry group too! https://www.ravelry.com/groups/amigurumi-adventures-2
